06 May Teach and Learn Science… by doing Science!
A new digital tool, designed for learning by doing, the basis of learning at CreaNova, will be launched this week with a group of High students.
It is an American program adapted to our curriculum, from 5th grade of primary to 4th grade of ESO, which can be worked in Catalan, English and Spanish.
Science Bits is a platform to study science, closely aligned with the way of learning how science works, in CreaNova. Constructivist model, based on inquiry, discovery, reflection and critical thinking.
Through real and daily situations, the topic to be covered is introduced and questions are asked to the students to answer, according to their own ideas.
Subsequently, through experiences and/or laboratory practice, which allow researching on a problem, the student deduces the answers.
The explanation of what has been discovered is put in common with the professor and is related to laws or theories established by scientists.
The great contribution, especially in this situation of confinement, is in the amount of interactive multimedia content provided by Science bits: virtual and interactive labs, in which to be able to observe, from microorganisms, cells of different tissues, through a microscope, in a very real experience. The student can also establish regularities, deduce laws and make predictions, from the kinematics and dynamics laboratories.
The consolidation exercises proposed by Science Bits use simulators, experiments and animations, helping to apply the knowledge.
The evaluation elements provided allow detecting weak points and reinforcing them, which is the objective of the evaluation, in CreaNova.
This tool allows us to personalize the learning process individually, since the teacher can design each didactic unit, according to the need, including reinforcement or extension sections, per student, so that each one works according to his or her pace and level, in the development of the educational competences and life skills.
